Back after summer – 2019
DDBC “Back after Summer” event.
This year we made a boattrip on the river Maas. The boat took us to Studio RAP (Robotics, Architecture and Production). As a warming up for this years #NordicTalks, on Artificial Intelligence, we visited this architectural design company where robots play a role in the design and production of buildings and other structures. Mr Wessel van Beerendonk (designer and one of the owners of Studio RAP) gave us a short introduction of the company and showed us around in their “work space” in the Innovation Dock on RDM Rotterdam.
“Studio RAP is an architectural design company where we combine the power of computational design with innovative digital fabrication methods. Our team consists of architects, designers, roboticists, programmers and researchers. Together we explore innovative technology and try to improve the way we design, produce, manage and build architecture. We are based in Rotterdam where we surround ourselves with robots in an industrial atmosphere where we can discover and realise challenging architecture.”
After the visit to Studio RAP we spend a lovely time on the Maas wachting the amasing architecture and the greatness of Rotterdam.
The day was compleated with a dinner at the Danish Sømandskirke.
